About University of Delhi

The University of Delhi (DU) is a central university located in New Delhi, established in 1922. Accredited A++ by NAAC and ranked 11th by NIRF, it is one of India's largest and most prestigious universities, with approximately 70,000 UG seats across 91 affiliated colleges.

Admission to DU is conducted through CUET UG for all undergraduate programmes and CUET PG for postgraduate programmes. Students must first appear for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) conducted by NTA, and then separately register on DU's CSAS portal for seat allocation. Both steps are mandatory.

Eligibility

  • UG: Class 12 from a recognised board with the minimum percentage specified by the chosen programme (typically 45%–60% across category-wise relaxations).
  • UG admission via CUET UG — minimum percentile is set by each college and programme.
  • PG: Bachelor's degree with the minimum aggregate as per programme; admission via CUET PG or DU PG entrance.
  • PhD: Master's degree with at least 55% (50% for SC/ST/PwBD) and qualifying entrance.
  • Age and reservation relaxations as per UGC and DU policy.

How to Apply

    Register on CUET portal
    Visit cuet.nta.nic.in and create a new account. Select University of Delhi as your preferred university and choose subjects matching your Class 12 subjects. Pay the NTA application fee and submit your form.

    Appear for CUET exam
    Download your admit card from the NTA portal. Appear for the computer-based CUET UG examination at your allotted centre on the scheduled date. Carry a printed admit card and valid photo ID.

    Register on CSAS portal
    After CUET results are declared, visit ugadmission.uod.ac.in. Register using your CUET application number, upload documents (Class 10 and 12 marksheets, category certificate, photo, signature), and pay the CSAS registration fee.

    Fill college and programme preferences
    Fill up to 20 college and programme combinations in order of preference. DU releases a Simulated Rank List before final allocation — use it to review and reorder your preferences before the deadline.
  5. 5
    Accept seat and pay fees
    After each allotment round, choose to Freeze (accept current seat), Upgrade (try for a higher preference in the next round), or Withdraw. Once you freeze, pay the college fee within the deadline and report for document verification.

Previous Year Cutoffs

Minimum qualifying criteria For CUET UG-based admission to DU: candidates must have a valid CUET UG 2026 score in the subjects mapped to their preferred programme. There is no university-wide minimum percentile — each college sets its own programme-wise cutoff after every counselling round.

DU cutoffs are expressed in CUET percentile. Cutoffs vary by college, programme, category, and admission round. Use previous year data to assess competition and build your preference list.
