About Vellore Institute of Technology

Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) is a deemed-to-be university located in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, founded in 1984 as Vellore Engineering College and granted university status in 2001. NAAC A++ accredited and consistently ranked among India's top private engineering universities, VIT operates a multi-campus model spanning Vellore, Chennai, Bhopal, Amaravati and AP.

Undergraduate engineering admission at VIT is conducted through VITEEE (VIT Engineering Entrance Examination). M.Tech / MS admissions use VITMEE, MBA admissions use CAT/MAT/XAT/VITMEE-MBA, and PhD admissions follow a separate research entrance. VITEEE results determine both campus and branch allotment in counselling.

Important Dates

How to Apply

   Register and apply for VITEEE
   Visit viteee.vit.ac.in, register with email and phone, fill the application form and pay the VITEEE application fee. Choose preferred test cities and slot.

   Appear for VITEEE
   Download admit card, appear for the computer-based VITEEE at your allotted centre on the booked slot. The exam tests Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, English and Aptitude.

   Check VITEEE rank and counselling call
   VIT publishes the rank list within a week. Based on your rank you will receive a counselling call letter for online counselling.
4. 4
   Online counselling and choice filling
   Pay the counselling fee, fill campus and branch preferences during your allotted login window. Higher ranks get earlier slots and wider choice of campus/branch.
5. 5
   Pay first semester fee and report
   Once a seat is allotted, pay the first semester fee within the deadline, complete document verification and report on campus on the orientation date.
