About University of Mumbai

University of Mumbai (MU), formerly the University of Bombay, is a state university located in Mumbai, Maharashtra, established in 1857. NAAC A++ accredited and NIRF-ranked, MU is among India's oldest and largest universities, with around 150,000 students enrolled across 700+ affiliated colleges in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and Konkan.

Most undergraduate programmes at MU are admitted on a Class 12 merit basis at the affiliated college level, with engineering and pharmacy admissions through MHT-CET and architecture through NATA / JEE Main Paper 2. Postgraduate admissions use a combination of the Common Allocation Test, departmental entrance and merit. The MU CAP / college-wise merit lists determine final allocation.
