About Assam Agricultural University
Assam Agricultural University (AAU) is a state agricultural university headquartered at Jorhat in Upper Assam, established by the Assam Agricultural University Act, 1968 of the Assam Legislative Assembly. AAU was the sixth agricultural university in India to be set up on the ICAR Land Grant pattern and serves the agricultural research, education and extension needs of Assam and the North-East.
AAU offers UG, PG and Ph.D programmes across agriculture, horticulture, community science, fisheries, nutrition and dietetics, sericulture, food technology, agribusiness management (MBA) and veterinary sciences. UG admission is through the AAU Common Entrance Test (AAU-CET) and ICAR AIEEA UG; PG admission is through the AAU PGET and ICAR AIEEA PG, with TA score considered for inter-state quota seats.
For 2026-27, the AAU UG entrance test is scheduled for 29 and 30 June 2026, with the online application closing on 20 May 2026 and an application fee of ₹1000. The admission portal is at admission.aau.ac.in.
