About Assam Don Bosco University

Assam Don Bosco University (ADBU) is a state private university located at Azara, Guwahati, Assam, established in 2008 under the Assam Don Bosco University Act, 2008 of the Assam Legislative Assembly. ADBU is run by the Salesians of Don Bosco — Guwahati Province — and is recognised under UGC Act Section 2(f), with AICTE and PCI approvals for technical and pharmacy programmes respectively.

ADBU offers around 84 programmes at UG, PG, Diploma and Ph.D levels through schools of engineering, technology, computer science, management, humanities, education, theology, social work and pharmaceutical sciences. UG admission to B.Tech accepts JEE Main / Assam CEE / DBU-GET (Don Bosco University Graduate Entrance Test) plus a personal interview. PG admission to MBA / MCA uses DBU-PGET or recognised national entrance scores plus interview.

The 2026-27 application opens from the second week of March 2026. Application fee is ₹600 (online) / ₹650 (offline). The official admission portal is at dbuniversity.ac.in.

Eligibility

UG (B.Tech): 10+2 with PCM and 45% aggregate from a recognised board; JEE Main / Assam CEE / DBU-GET. UG (other): 10+2 with the prescribed aggregate. PG (MBA / MCA): Bachelor's + valid CAT / MAT / XAT / DBU-PGET. M.Tech: B.Tech / B.E. + GATE. Ph.D: Master's with UGC-prescribed aggregate plus DBU research entrance + interview.

How to Apply

   Read the ADBU 2026 notification
   Visit dbuniversity.ac.in for the 2026-27 admission notification with programme list, fee structure and entrance criteria.
2. 2
   Apply for DBU-GET / DBU-PGET / national entrance
   Apply on the ADBU portal — pay ₹600 online (₹650 offline). Submit valid JEE Main / Assam CEE / CAT / MAT / XAT / GATE scores or apply for DBU-GET / DBU-PGET as per the programme.
3. 3
   Appear for entrance + personal interview
   Sit DBU-GET / DBU-PGET on the date notified. Candidates without national-entrance scores must take DBU's test; all candidates attend a personal interview.
4. 4
   Admission confirmation
   Selected candidates pay the admission fee and report to the Azara campus, Guwahati.

Scholarships

Scholarships are available for eligible candidates at this university.

ADBU merit scholarships, Salesian society aid, Assam CMSS / Pragyan Bharati scholarship, SC/ST/OBC/EWS post-matric scholarships and need-based aid.

Reservations

Assam state reservation: SC 7%, ST(P) 10%, ST(H) 5%, OBC/MOBC 27%, EWS 10%; PwBD 5% horizontal. Salesian-society quota for select theology / social-work programmes.
