About Dibrugarh University

Dibrugarh University (DU) is a state university located at Rajabheta, Dibrugarh in Upper Assam, established by the Dibrugarh University Act, 1965 of the Assam Legislative Assembly and made operational on 1 July 1965. The university serves the Upper Assam districts as the principal affiliating university and operates a network of postgraduate departments alongside affiliated colleges.

Dibrugarh University offers UG, PG, M.Phil and Ph.D programmes across arts, sciences, commerce, management, engineering, law and education. PG admission is conducted through the Dibrugarh University Admission Test (DUAT, formerly DUPGET / DUET) — a single-paper OMR-based test of 2 hours with 100 MCQs of 1 mark each. DUAT 2026 is scheduled for 29 and 30 June 2026 across 11 test centres in Assam, in two shifts each day.

For 2026-27, the DUAT online application is open from 7 May to 28 May 2026 with an application fee of ₹1050. The official admission portal is at dibru.ac.in.

Eligibility

UG: 10+2 from a recognised board with the prescribed subject combination. PG (2-year): Bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline with the minimum aggregate; valid DUAT score. M.Tech: B.Tech / B.E. with valid GATE score. Ph.D: Master's with 55% (50% reserved); DU research entrance / NET-JRF / GATE.

   Visit dibru.ac.in for the DUAT 2026 notification, programme list, exam pattern and centre options.

   Apply for DUAT online
   Register on the DU admission portal between 7 and 28 May 2026, upload documents and pay the ₹1050 application fee through the online gateway.

   Appear for DUAT
   DUAT 2026 will be held on 29 and 30 June 2026 in two shifts each day at 11 test centres across Assam.

   Counselling and admission
   Qualified candidates participate in DU online counselling, exercise programme preferences and confirm seat allotment by reporting to the Rajabheta campus, Dibrugarh.

Assam state reservation: SC 7%, ST(P) 10%, ST(H) 5%, OBC/MOBC 27%, EWS 10%; PwBD 5% horizontal.
