About Dibrugarh University
Dibrugarh University (DU) is a state university located at Rajabheta, Dibrugarh in Upper Assam, established by the Dibrugarh University Act, 1965 of the Assam Legislative Assembly and made operational on 1 July 1965. The university serves the Upper Assam districts as the principal affiliating university and operates a network of postgraduate departments alongside affiliated colleges.
Dibrugarh University offers UG, PG, M.Phil and Ph.D programmes across arts, sciences, commerce, management, engineering, law and education. PG admission is conducted through the Dibrugarh University Admission Test (DUAT, formerly DUPGET / DUET) — a single-paper OMR-based test of 2 hours with 100 MCQs of 1 mark each. DUAT 2026 is scheduled for 29 and 30 June 2026 across 11 test centres in Assam, in two shifts each day.
For 2026-27, the DUAT online application is open from 7 May to 28 May 2026 with an application fee of ₹1050. The official admission portal is at dibru.ac.in.
