About Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva Viswavidyalaya
Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva Viswavidyalaya (MSSV) is a state private university with two campuses in Nagaon and Guwahati, Assam, established in 2014 under the Assam Private Universities Act, 2007. The university is named after Mahapurush Srimanta Sankaradeva — the 15-16th century Vaishnavite saint, scholar and social reformer — and is recognised by UGC.
MSSV offers UG, PG, M.Phil, Ph.D and Diploma programmes — BA, BCA, B.Sc, LLB at UG level and MCA, MA, M.Sc, M.Phil and LLM at PG level. UG admission is on the merit of HSC (Class 12) marks; PG admission is on Bachelor's degree merit; Ph.D admission is through interview.
The 2026-27 admission notification is published on mssv.ac.in. Programme fees range approximately ₹28,000 - ₹84,800 depending on the course.
