About Sri Sri Anirudhadeva Sports University
Sri Sri Aniruddhadeva Sports University (SASU) is a state sports university located at Chabua in Dibrugarh district, Assam — the first sports university in the North-East — established in 2020 by an Act of the Assam Legislative Assembly. The university is named after the Vaishnava saint Sri Sri Aniruddhadeva and is set up to promote sports education, training and research in Assam and the wider North-Eastern region.
SASU offers a four-year Bachelor of Physical Education — B.P.Ed (Hons) and B.P.Ed (Hons with Research) — under the National Education Policy 2020, with exit points awarding certificate (1 year), diploma (2 years), bachelor's (3 years) and bachelor's with research (4 years). Admission to UG programmes is on the merit of past academic record, supplemented by physical fitness / sports proficiency tests as notified.
