About Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences

Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences (SSUHS) is a state health sciences university located in Guwahati, Assam, established by the Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences Act, 2009 of the Assam Legislative Assembly and made operational from 2010. SSUHS is the affiliating university for medical, dental, nursing, pharmacy, paramedical and AYUSH colleges across Assam.

SSUHS oversees admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, B.Sc Nursing, B.Pharm, D.Pharm and allied health programmes. MBBS admission is through NEET UG — 15% All India Quota and 85% State Quota — followed by counselling conducted by the Director of Medical Education (DME), Assam. PG (MD/MS, MDS) admissions are through NEET PG and NEET MDS, respectively. Other UG programmes use the SSUHS CET conducted by the university.

MBBS admission at SSUHS is through NEET UG (NTA) — 15% AIQ (MCC) and 85% State Quota (Director of Medical Education, Assam). PG MD/MS is through NEET PG; MDS through NEET MDS. B.Sc Nursing, B.Pharm, D.Pharm, BAMS, BHMS and allied health programmes are admitted through the SSUHS Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the university.
