About Atal Bihari Vajpayee Vishwavidyalaya
Atal Bihari Vajpayee Vishwavidyalaya (ABVV) is a state university located at Old High Court Road, Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh, established by the CG Act No. 7 of 2012 (gazette notification 3 February 2012; operational from June 2012). The university was formerly known as Bilaspur Vishwavidyalaya and is named after the late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. ABVV serves as the principal affiliating university for colleges across the Bilaspur, Janjgir-Champa, Korba, Mungeli and Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi districts.
ABVV offers UG (BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BBA, BCA), PG (MA, M.Sc, M.Com, MBA, MCA), M.Phil, Ph.D and Diploma programmes through its constituent and 200-plus affiliated colleges. UG and PG admission is largely on the merit of the qualifying examination, supplemented by CUET UG / CUET PG for select programmes; Ph.D admission is through the ABVV Doctoral Entrance Test (DET-2026) plus interview.
