About Hemchand Yadav Vishwavidyalaya (Durg Vishwavidyalaya)
Hemchand Yadav Vishwavidyalaya — popularly known as Durg Vishwavidyalaya — is a state university located at Durg in Chhattisgarh, established by the Hemchand Yadav Vishwavidyalaya, Durg Act, 2015 of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly through the bifurcation of Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University. The university is named after Hemchand Yadav, a noted Chhattisgarhi educationist, and serves as the principal affiliating university for colleges across the Durg, Bemetara, Kabirdham (Kawardha), Balod and Rajnandgaon districts.
Durg Vishwavidyalaya offers UG (BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BBA, BCA), PG (MA, M.Sc, M.Com, MBA, MCA), M.Phil, Ph.D and Diploma programmes through its constituent and more than 150 affiliated colleges. UG and PG admission is largely on the merit of the qualifying examination, with CUET UG / CUET PG accepted for select programmes; Ph.D admission uses the Durg University Research Entrance Test plus interview.
