About Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya
Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya (GGV) is a Central University located at Koni, Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh, originally established in 1983 as Guru Ghasidas University by an Act of the Madhya Pradesh State Legislature and converted into a Central University on 15 January 2009 by the Central Universities Act, 2009 of the Indian Parliament. The university honours saint Guru Ghasidas, the founder of the Satnami sect.
GGV offers UG, PG, M.Phil, Ph.D and integrated programmes through 8 schools and 28 departments — covering humanities, social sciences, sciences, commerce, management, law, education, engineering (B.Tech, M.Tech), pharmacy (B.Pharm, M.Pharm) and computer applications. UG and PG admissions are conducted through CUET UG and CUET PG (NTA); B.Tech additionally accepts JEE Main; M.Tech requires GATE; Ph.D admission uses GGV's VRET (Ph.D entrance) or NET-JRF / GATE.
CUET UG 2026 is being conducted from 11 to 31 May 2026. The GGV 2026-27 admission application closes around 30 April 2026 on the GGV Samarth portal at ggvcuet.samarth.edu.in. The official portal is at ggu.ac.in.
