About Hidayatullah National Law University
Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU) is a National Law University located at Naya Raipur (Atal Nagar) in Chhattisgarh, established by the Hidayatullah National Law University Act, 2003 of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly. The university is named after Justice Mohammad Hidayatullah, the 11th Chief Justice of India and former Vice-President of India, and is recognised as an Institute of National Importance for legal education.
HNLU offers a 5-year integrated B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programme, a one-year LL.M. and a Ph.D programme in law. Admission to BA LLB and LLM is through the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT UG / CLAT PG) conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities, with subsequent CLAT counselling and university-side registration.
CLAT 2026 was conducted on 7 December 2025 by the Consortium of NLUs. The HNLU 2026-27 admission notification and counselling schedule are released on the official portal at hnlu.ac.in.
