About Sant Gahira Guru Vishwavidyalaya (formerly Sarguja University)
Sant Gahira Guru Vishwavidyalaya (SGGCG) is a state university located at Ambikapur in Sarguja district, Chhattisgarh, established in 2008 (originally as Sarguja University) and renamed to Sant Gahira Guru Vishwavidyalaya in 2017 by the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly. The university honours Sant Gahira Guru — a noted spiritual reformer of the Sarguja region — and serves as the principal affiliating university for colleges across the Sarguja, Surajpur, Balrampur, Korea and Jashpur districts of north Chhattisgarh.
