About Delhi Technological University
Delhi Technological University (DTU) is a public state university located in Bawana Road, Shahbad Daulatpur, North-West Delhi. The institution traces its origin to the Delhi Polytechnic founded in 1941 (later renamed Delhi College of Engineering, DCE) and was upgraded to a state university by the DTU Act, 2009 of the Government of NCT of Delhi. DTU is one of India's premier technical universities, ranked among the top engineering institutions in NIRF.
DTU operates 14 academic departments and several centres of excellence offering UG, PG, MPhil and PhD programmes spanning Engineering & Technology (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Computer, IT, Biotechnology, Polymer, Environmental, Production, Software, Mathematics & Computing, Engineering Physics, Automobile, Chemical), Applied Sciences, Management (DSM), and Humanities. DTU offers 21 B.Tech specialisations across 4-year UG programmes.
DTU B.Tech admissions are based on JEE Main scores through JAC Delhi (Joint Admission Counselling), the common counselling for DTU, NSUT, IIIT-Delhi and IGDTUW. 85% of B.Tech seats are reserved for Delhi-region candidates and 15% for outside-Delhi candidates. PG admissions go through GATE / DTU-PG entrance + JAC Delhi PG; MBA via CAT; PhD via the DTU PhD entrance.
