Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU / IPU) is a state university located at Sector 16C, Dwarka in New Delhi, established by the GGSIPU Act, 1998 of the Delhi Legislative Assembly. The university is named after the tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh, and is the first state-funded affiliating university in Delhi. GGSIPU operates a network of more than 130 affiliated institutions across Delhi-NCR.

GGSIPU offers UG, PG, M.Phil, Ph.D and Diploma programmes across engineering, technology, management, law, medicine, dental, pharmacy, journalism & mass communication, education and humanities. Admission for 2026-27 is through two main routes: IPU CET (university-conducted entrance test for select programmes including B.Tech Biotechnology Code 130, BBA, MBA and many PG / professional programmes) and National Level Tests / NLT (JEE Main for B.Tech Code 131, NEET UG for MBBS / BDS, CLAT for LLB, CAT for select MBA programmes etc.).

IPU CET 2026 is being conducted between 27 April 2026 and 12 May 2026. Registration started 2 February 2026; CET-based application deadline was 11 April 2026; NLT-based deadline extended to 15 May 2026. The official admission portal is at ipu.ac.in / ipu.admissions.nic.in.

Eligibility

UG: 10+2 from a recognised board with the prescribed subject combination plus IPU CET / JEE Main / NEET UG / CLAT score. PG: Bachelor's in the relevant discipline; IPU CET / CAT / GATE / CUET PG. Ph.D: Master's with UGC-prescribed aggregate; IPU Research Entrance.

   Visit ipu.ac.in/adm2026 to identify whether your programme uses IPU CET (Code 130, etc.) or a National Level Test (Code 131, etc.).

   Apply online
   Register on ipu.admissions.nic.in. CET-based application deadline was 11 April 2026; NLT-based extended to 15 May 2026.

   Appear for the entrance
   Sit IPU CET 2026 (27 April - 12 May 2026) or the relevant national entrance (JEE Main / NEET UG / CLAT / CAT / GATE) per the programme.

   Counselling and admission
   Participate in IPU online counselling, exercise programme / college preferences and confirm seat allotment by paying the admission fee at the Dwarka campus or affiliated institution.

Scholarships

Scholarships are available for eligible candidates at this university.

GGSIPU merit scholarships, Delhi Government scholarships, Central Sector Scholarship, SC/ST/OBC/EWS post-matric scholarships through NSP and need-based aid.

Reservations

Delhi state reservation: 85% Delhi quota + 15% outside Delhi for several programmes. SC 15%, ST 7.5%, OBC-NCL 27%, EWS 10%; PwBD 5% horizontal. Sikh minority quota for select programmes per GGSIPU minority status.
