About Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women

Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW) is a state women-only technical university located at Kashmere Gate, Delhi, established in 2013 by the IGDTUW Act, 2012 of the Delhi Legislative Assembly through the upgradation of the Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology (IGIT, est. 1998). IGDTUW is the only women's technical university in Delhi and one of very few in India.

IGDTUW offers UG (B.Tech in CSE, IT, ECE, EEE, ME, AIDS, AIML, MAE), PG (M.Tech, MBA, MCA, M.Plan), B.Arch, M.Arch and Ph.D programmes. B.Tech admission is through JEE Main + JAC Delhi (Joint Admission Counselling shared with DTU, NSUT and IIIT-Delhi) — 85% Delhi quota + 15% outside Delhi. M.Tech admission requires GATE; B.Arch admission through NATA + JoSAA / JAC Delhi; MBA admission accepts CAT / MAT / CMAT; MCA admission via NIMCET. All programmes are open exclusively to women candidates.

Eligibility

B.Tech: 10+2 with PCM and the JAC-prescribed aggregate; valid JEE Main score + JAC Delhi counselling. M.Tech: B.Tech / B.E. + GATE. MBA: Bachelor's + valid CAT / MAT / CMAT. MCA: Bachelor's with Mathematics + NIMCET. B.Arch: 10+2 PCM + NATA. Ph.D: Master's with UGC-prescribed aggregate. ALL programmes open exclusively to women.

How to Apply

1. 1
   Appear for JEE Main / GATE / national entrance
   Register on jeemain.nta.nic.in (B.Tech), gate.iitb.ac.in (M.Tech), NIMCET (MCA), NATA (B.Arch). For Ph.D apply directly on igdtuw.ac.in.
2. 2
   Register on JAC Delhi
   After JEE Main result, register on jacdelhi.admissions.nic.in for B.Tech centralised counselling — IGDTUW participates alongside DTU, NSUT, IIIT-Delhi.
3. 3
   Counselling and seat allotment
   Participate in JAC Delhi rounds, exercise IGDTUW programme preferences and accept seat allotment online.
4. 4
   Final admission at IGDTUW
   Allotted candidates pay the admission fee, complete document verification and report to the Kashmere Gate campus, Delhi.

Scholarships

Scholarships are available for eligible candidates at this university.

IGDTUW merit scholarships, Delhi Government women-in-technology scholarships, AICTE Pragati Scholarship for Girls, Central Sector Scholarship, SC/ST/OBC/EWS post-matric scholarships through NSP and corporate / alumni endowments.

Reservations

JAC Delhi reservation: 85% Delhi quota (Class 10 / 12 from Delhi-based school) + 15% outside Delhi. SC 15%, ST 7.5%, OBC-NCL 27%, EWS 10%; PwBD 5% horizontal. Single Girl Child supernumerary seats per Delhi government policy. ELIGIBILITY restricted to women only.
