About Jawaharlal Nehru University
Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is a public central university in New Delhi, established by an Act of Parliament in 1969 and named after India's first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. JNU is among the most reputed research universities in India, repeatedly ranked at or near the top in the NIRF University category, and was conferred the status of "University of Eminence" by the Government of India.
JNU offers UG, PG, MPhil, PhD and integrated programmes through 13 schools and several special centres covering social sciences, international studies, languages, environmental sciences, life sciences, computational and integrative sciences, computer & systems sciences, physical sciences, biotechnology, sanskrit and Indic studies, engineering, and management.
Most JNU UG and PG admissions are conducted through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG / CUET PG) administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Admission to the JNU MBA programme is via CAT (Common Admission Test). PhD admissions follow JNU's own merit/interview process based on UGC-NET, GATE or qualifying scores.
