About Goa University
Goa University (GU) is a state university located on a 403-acre campus at Taleigao Plateau, near Panaji in North Goa, established in 1985 by the Goa University Act, 1984 of the Goa, Daman and Diu Legislative Assembly. GU is the principal affiliating university for colleges across both the North Goa and South Goa districts and is recognised under UGC Act Section 12-B with NAAC A-grade accreditation.
Goa University offers UG, PG, M.Phil, Ph.D, Diploma and Certificate programmes through 5 schools and 26 departments — covering arts, social sciences, sciences, commerce, management, technology (including 5-year integrated MA / M.Sc programmes), languages, performing arts, education and law. UG admission for 2026-27 is largely merit-based on the qualifying examination plus CUET UG (NTA) for select programmes. PG admission is through the Goa University Admission Ranking Test (GU-ART) plus CUET PG for select programmes; PG MBA / professional admissions follow programme-specific entrance / interview rounds. Engineering / pharmacy / nursing seats at affiliated colleges follow Goa CET (DTE Goa, separate from GU).
For 2026-27, UG application opened 23 March 2026 and closed 13 April 2026; PG application was extended until 5 April 2026. CUET UG 2026 is being conducted from 11-31 May 2026. The official admission portal is at unigoa.ac.in.
