About Bhakta Kavi Narsinh Mehta University

Bhakta Kavi Narsinh Mehta University (BKNMU) is a state university located at Khadia, Junagadh in Saurashtra region of Gujarat, established in 2015 by the BKNMU Act, 2015 of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly through the bifurcation of Saurashtra University. The university is named after the 15th-century Gujarati saint-poet Narsinh Mehta and serves the Junagadh, Porbandar and Gir Somnath districts.

BKNMU offers UG, PG, M.Phil, Ph.D and Diploma programmes through 17 PG departments and more than 100 affiliated colleges across arts, commerce, sciences, management, law and education. UG admission for 2026-27 is conducted through GCAS (Gujarat Common Admission Services); B.Tech / B.Pharm admission uses GUJCET + ACPC; LLB uses CLAT or BKNMU law entrance.
