About Birsa Munda Tribal University
Birsa Munda Tribal University (BMTU) is a state university located at Rajpipla in Narmada district, Gujarat, established in 2018 by the BMTU Act, 2017 of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly. The university is named after Birsa Munda — the 19th-century tribal freedom fighter and folk hero — and is dedicated to higher education, research and extension for tribal communities and the eastern tribal belt of Gujarat (Narmada, Tapi, Dang, Chhota Udaipur, Mahisagar districts).
BMTU offers UG, PG, M.Phil, Ph.D and Diploma programmes through its constituent and affiliated colleges across arts, commerce, sciences, social work, tribal studies and education. UG admission for 2026-27 is conducted through GCAS (Gujarat Common Admission Services) for general programmes; B.Tech / B.Pharm admission uses GUJCET + ACPC; LLB uses CLAT or BMTU law entrance.
GCAS 2026-27 application is open 7-28 May 2026 at gcas.gujgov.edu.in. The official portal is at bmtu.ac.in.
