About Gujarat Ayurveda University

Gujarat Ayurved University (GAU) is a state Ayurveda university located at Jamnagar in Saurashtra region of Gujarat, established in 1968 by the Gujarat Ayurved University Act, 1965 of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly. GAU is the world's only university dedicated entirely to Ayurveda — combining education, research and clinical practice — and is recognised by the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) and Ministry of AYUSH.

GAU offers UG (BAMS — Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery), PG (MD/MS Ayurveda), Ph.D, Diploma and Certificate programmes including Sanskrit, Ayurveda Pharmacy, Yoga, Naturopathy and Ayurvedic Medicinal Plants. BAMS admission is through NEET UG followed by AYUSH counselling — 15% AIQ + 85% state quota. PG (MD/MS Ayurveda) is through AIAPGET (All India Ayurveda Post Graduate Entrance Test) conducted by NTA / Ministry of AYUSH.

Ph.D admission uses the GAU Research Entrance Test plus interview.
