Institute of Advanced Research (IAR), Gandhinagar is a state private university located at Koba Institutional Area, Gandhinagar in Gujarat, established in 2011 by the Institute of Advanced Research, Gandhinagar Act, 2011 of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly. IAR is sponsored by the Puri Foundation and is positioned as a research-intensive private university focused on integrated 5-year programmes in life sciences, biological sciences and biotechnology.

IAR offers Integrated 5-year M.Sc / M.Tech (in Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics), MA Liberal Arts, M.Sc Biotechnology and Ph.D programmes. Admission to integrated UG-PG programmes is through the IAR Common Entrance Test plus interview; M.Sc / M.Tech admission uses GATE / IAR Entrance plus interview; Ph.D admission uses the IAR Research Entrance.
