About Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda
Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda (MSU Baroda) is a state university located at Vadodara in Gujarat, established in 1949 by the Maharaja Sayajirao University Act, 1949 of the Bombay State Legislature. The university is named after Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III — the celebrated 19th-century ruler of Baroda State who founded the original Baroda College (1881) — and is one of the oldest residential universities in India with English as the principal medium of instruction.
MSU Baroda offers UG, PG, M.Phil, Ph.D, Diploma and integrated programmes through 14 faculties — including Arts, Commerce, Education & Psychology, Family & Community Sciences, Fine Arts, Journalism & Communication, Law, Management Studies, Medicine, Performing Arts, Science, Social Work, Technology & Engineering, and Polytechnic. UG admission for 2026-27 is conducted through GCAS (Gujarat Common Admission Services) for general programmes; B.Tech / B.Pharm admission uses GUJCET / JEE Main + ACPC counselling; MBBS / BDS uses NEET UG; LLB uses CLAT / MSU Baroda law entrance.
GCAS 2026-27 application is open 7-28 May 2026 at gcas.gujgov.edu.in. GUJCET 2026 was held on 29 March 2026; results were declared 4 May 2026. The official portal is at msubaroda.ac.in.
