About Shri Govind Guru University

Shri Govind Guru University (SGGU) is a state university located at Vinzol, Godhra in Panchmahal district of Gujarat, established in 2015 by the SGGU Act, 2015 of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly through the bifurcation of Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University. The university honours Shri Govind Guru — a 19th-century tribal social reformer of the Bhil-Mahisya community — and serves the colleges of the Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar and Chhota Udaipur districts of east Gujarat.

SGGU offers UG, PG, M.Phil, Ph.D and Diploma programmes through its PG departments and affiliated colleges across arts, commerce, sciences, management, law and education. UG admission for 2026-27 is conducted through GCAS (Gujarat Common Admission Services); B.Tech / B.Pharm admission uses GUJCET + ACPC; LLB uses CLAT or SGGU law entrance.
