About Vanita Vishram Women’s University

Vanita Vishram Women's University (VVWU) is a state women-only university located at Surat in south Gujarat, established in 2021 by the VVWU Act, 2020 of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly. VVWU is the first women's university in Gujarat and is built on the educational legacy of the Vanita Vishram Society (founded 1898 in Surat). All programmes are open exclusively to women candidates.

VVWU offers UG (B.A., B.Com, B.Sc, BBA, BCA, B.Voc), PG (MA, M.Com, M.Sc, MBA, MCA, M.Voc), Diploma and Ph.D programmes across arts, commerce, sciences, management, computer applications, vocational studies and home sciences. UG admission for 2026-27 is conducted through GCAS (Gujarat Common Admission Services); programme-specific entrance / interview for select PG courses.
