About Birsa Agricultural University
Birsa Agricultural University (BAU) is a state agricultural university located at Kanke, Ranchi in Jharkhand, established in 1981 by the Bihar Legislative Assembly (pre-Jharkhand statehood) and inherited by Jharkhand upon state formation in 2000. BAU is named after Birsa Munda — the 19th-century tribal freedom fighter — and is Jharkhand's principal university for agricultural research, education and extension with strong focus on tribal-region agriculture, horticulture, forestry and veterinary sciences.
BAU offers UG (B.Sc Ag, B.Sc Horti, B.Tech Agri Engg, B.V.Sc, B.Sc Forestry, B.Sc Fisheries), PG (M.Sc, M.Tech, M.V.Sc) and Ph.D programmes. UG admission via ICAR AIEEA UG (15% AIQ) + BAU CET (85% State Quota); B.V.Sc via NEET UG + VCI counselling; PG via ICAR AIEEA PG.
