About Binod Bihar Mahto Koylanchal University

Binod Bihari Mahto Koylanchal University (BBMKU) is a state university located at Govindpur, Dhanbad in Jharkhand, established in 2017 by the BBMKU Act, 2017 of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly. The university is named after Binod Bihari Mahto — a noted social reformer and Jharkhand movement leader — and serves the colleges of the Dhanbad and Bokaro districts (the coal-belt or Koylanchal region of Jharkhand).

BBMKU offers UG, PG and Ph.D programmes across arts, sciences, commerce, management and education. UG admission via CUET UG / merit; PG via BBMKU PG Entrance or CUET PG.
