About Gulbarga University

Gulbarga University (GU) is a state university located at Jnana Ganga, Kalaburagi (Gulbarga) in Karnataka, established in 1980 by the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. GU serves the colleges of the Kalaburagi, Bidar, Yadgir and Raichur (until 2020) districts of north-east Karnataka — the Hyderabad-Karnataka / Kalyana-Karnataka region.

GU offers UG, PG, M.Phil and Ph.D programmes through 36 PG departments and 80+ affiliated colleges. UG admission via CUET UG / merit; PG via GU PG Entrance or CUET PG.

CUET UG 2026 runs 11-31 May 2026. GU portal at gug.ac.in.

Karnataka state reservation: SC 17.15%, ST 6.95%, Cat 1 4%, Cat 2A 15%, Cat 2B 4%, Cat 3A 4%, Cat 3B 5%, EWS 10%; PwBD 5% horizontal. Kalyana-Karnataka regional (Article 371-J) reservation.
