About Kerala University of Fisheries & Ocean Studies
Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS), established in 2011 by the KUFOS Act, is a specialised state university dedicated to fisheries, aquaculture and ocean sciences. Located at Panangad, Kochi, KUFOS was created from the Faculty of Fisheries of the erstwhile Kerala Agricultural University and is the second fisheries university in India (after TNJFU, Tamil Nadu).
The university has six schools and faculties including the Faculty of Fisheries Science, Faculty of Ocean Science & Technology, School of Management Studies, School of Fishery Environment and the Centre for Aquaculture Research and Extension. Offers BFSc (Bachelor of Fisheries Science), BVoc, MFSc, MTech in Ocean Engineering, MBA in Fisheries & Aquaculture Management and PhD programmes. ICAR-accredited.
UG admissions through KEAM (state quota) and ICAR AIEEA UG (15% national quota); PG/PhD through ICAR AIEEA PG / AICE-JRF and university-conducted entrances. State reservation applies for state quota seats.
