About Kerala Veterinary & Animal Sciences University
Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (KVASU), established on 19 January 2011 by the Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University Act 2010, is the apex veterinary university of Kerala. Headquartered at Pookode in Wayanad district, KVASU was carved out of Kerala Agricultural University to focus on veterinary, dairy and fisheries sciences.
KVASU has six constituent colleges — College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (Mannuthy + Pookode), College of Dairy Science & Technology (Mannuthy + Pookode + Kolahalamedu), College of Avian Sciences & Management (Thiruvazhamkunnu) and the Centre for Wildlife Studies (Pookode). The university is ICAR-accredited and recognised by Veterinary Council of India (VCI).
UG admissions to BVSc & AH and BTech Dairy Technology through KEAM (85% state quota) and ICAR AIEEA UG (15% national quota). PG/PhD through ICAR AIEEA PG / AICE-JRF and KVASU-conducted entrances. State reservation applies for state quota seats.
