About National University of Advanced Legal Studies

National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Kochi, established in 2005 by the NUALS Act 2005 (and made operational from the 2005-06 batch onwards), is the National Law University of Kerala. Located at Kalamassery in Ernakulam district, NUALS is one of the 23 NLUs in India and admits students through the CLAT (Common Law Admission Test).

NUALS offers a 5-year integrated BA LLB (Hons.), 1-year LL.M., and PhD programmes in law. The university is known for its specialised research centres in Intellectual Property Rights, International Law, Environmental Law and Criminal Justice. NAAC A+ accredited.

UG admissions through CLAT UG conducted by Consortium of NLUs. LLM admissions through CLAT PG. PhD through NUALS PhD entrance. State quota of 25% for Kerala domiciled candidates within CLAT merit.

BA LLB (Hons): Plus Two pass with 45% (40% SC/ST/OBC) + CLAT UG. LLM: LLB 50% + CLAT PG. PhD: LLM 55% + NUALS entrance.
