About Shree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit
Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit (SSUS), established in 1993 by the SSUS Act and made operational in 1994, is the state Sanskrit university of Kerala. Headquartered at Kalady in Ernakulam district — the birthplace of Adi Shankaracharya — the university was created to promote Sanskrit, Indian languages, philosophy and traditional knowledge systems.
SSUS has the main campus at Kalady and nine regional centres at Thiruvananthapuram, Thuravoor, Ettumanoor, Thrissur, Panmana, Payyannur, Koyilandy, Tirur and Thalassery. Offers BA/MA/MPhil/PhD in Sanskrit, Malayalam, Hindi, English, Sociology, Philosophy, Vedanta, Vyakarana, Nyaya, Sahitya, Manuscriptology and Performing Arts. NAAC A+ accredited.
UG admissions through Sanskrit University Centralised Allotment Process (SUCAP) based on Plus Two marks. PG/MPhil admissions through SSUS-conducted entrance. PhD through entrance + interview. CUET accepted for select PG. State reservation applies.
