About Dr. BR Ambedkar University of Social Sciences
Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University of Social Sciences (BRAUSS), established in 2016 by an Act of the Madhya Pradesh state legislature, is a specialised state university dedicated to the study, teaching and research of social sciences. Located in Indore, the university is named in honour of Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar — the chief architect of the Indian Constitution, social reformer and economist. BRAUSS is part of MP's vision of expanding specialised universities in the state.
BRAUSS has faculties of Social Work, Economics, Sociology, Political Science, Public Administration, Anthropology, Gandhian Studies, Buddhist Studies, Dalit & Tribal Studies, Education and Law. The university offers MA, MSW, MPhil and PhD programmes with a strong focus on field-based social research, policy studies and the Ambedkar-Phule-Periyar tradition of social emancipation.
PG admissions through BRAUSS Entrance + interview; CUET PG accepted for select programmes. PhD through BRAUSS PhD entrance. UG programmes through MP Online and merit for affiliated colleges (where applicable).
