Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), established in 1964 as the University of Indore and renamed in 1988 in honour of Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar of the Holkar Dynasty, is the principal state university of Indore. Located in Indore — the largest city and commercial capital of Madhya Pradesh — DAVV serves the western MP region (Indore, Khargone, Khandwa, Burhanpur, Barwani, Dhar, Jhabua and Alirajpur districts), affiliating over 200 colleges.
DAVV has 39 teaching departments organised into multiple faculties — Arts, Social Sciences, Sciences, Commerce, Law, Education, Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy, Management, Medicine and Performing Arts. The Institute of Management Studies (IMS) and the International Institute of Professional Studies (IIPS) are flagship MBA institutions. UG admissions to affiliated colleges through MP Online on Plus Two merit. PG admissions through DAVV Common Entrance Test (DAVV CET) or CUET PG for select programmes. The DAVV CET covers MBA/MCA/M.Sc./MA/M.Com/M.Tech and other PG programmes. PhD through DAVV PhD entrance.
