About Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwavidyalaya
Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (JNKVV), established on 1 October 1964, is the state agricultural university of Madhya Pradesh. Headquartered at Jabalpur, JNKVV was named after India's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. The university covers 30 districts of central, eastern and southern MP and is an ICAR-accredited state agricultural university (SAU). In 2009, the veterinary college was separated into NDVSU; in 2009 again, the western MP agricultural colleges formed RVSKVV Gwalior — leaving JNKVV with its current jurisdiction.
JNKVV has the main College of Agriculture at Jabalpur, College of Agricultural Engineering at Jabalpur, College of Agriculture at Tikamgarh, Rewa, Ganj Basoda, Waraseoni and Powarkheda. The university operates 19 Zonal Agricultural Research Stations and 21 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs). ICAR-accredited and recognised by UGC under Section 12(B).
UG admissions to BSc Agriculture, BTech Agricultural Engineering, BSc Horticulture, BSc Forestry through MP PAT (Pre-Agriculture Test conducted by MPPEB / MP Vyapam — VYAPAM) for state quota (85%) and ICAR AIEEA UG for national quota (15%). PG/PhD through ICAR AIEEA PG / AICE-JRF and JNKVV PhD entrance.
