About Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication
Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication (MCNUJC), established in 1990 by the Government of Madhya Pradesh (operational from 1993), is the first journalism university in India. Located in Bhopal, the university is named after the renowned Hindi poet, journalist and freedom fighter Pandit Makhanlal Chaturvedi (the 'Ek Bharatiya Aatma'). MCNUJC is a state university dedicated exclusively to media, communication and information technology.
The university has eight departments — Department of Journalism, Department of Mass Communication, Department of Electronic Media (Broadcast Journalism), Department of New Media Technology, Department of Communication Research, Department of Computer Science, Department of Management Studies, and Department of Education. Offers BJMC, BCA, BBA, MJ, MAMC, MA Communication Research, MCA, MBA, MEd, MPhil and PhD. NAAC A grade accredited.
UG and PG admissions through MCNUJC University Entrance Test (UET) conducted annually by MP Online. CUET PG accepted for select departments since 2022. PhD through MCNUJC PhD entrance.
