About MP Bhoj Open University
Madhya Pradesh Bhoj (Open) University (MPBOU), established in 1991 by the MP Bhoj University Act (operational from 1995), is the state open university of Madhya Pradesh. Located in Bhopal, the university is named after Raja Bhoj, the 11th-century scholar-king of the Paramara dynasty. MPBOU provides flexible, learner-centric education through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and online modes to working professionals, dropouts and lifelong learners across MP.
MPBOU offers UG (BA, BCom, BBA, BCA, BSc), PG (MA, MCom, MSc, MBA, MCA, MSW, MEd, MLib), MPhil, PhD, Certificate and Diploma programmes through ODL and online modes. The university has regional centres across the 11 divisions of MP and maintains over 300 study centres. Recognised by UGC-DEB (Distance Education Bureau) for ODL and online programmes.
Admissions are rolling — two intakes annually in January and July cycles. UG admissions on Plus Two pass basis; PG admissions on bachelor degree basis. No entrance for most programmes; merit-based with relaxation for SC/ST. MP state reservation applies.
