About Maharshi Panini Sanskrit Evam Vedic Vishwavidyalaya
Maharshi Panini Sanskrit Evam Vedic Vishwavidyalaya (MPSVV), established in 2008 by an Act of the Madhya Pradesh state legislature, is the state Sanskrit university of Madhya Pradesh. Located in Ujjain — one of the seven sacred cities (Sapta Puri) and a centre of Sanskrit learning since ancient times — the university is named after Maharshi Panini, the great Sanskrit grammarian of the 4th-5th century BCE who authored the Ashtadhyayi.
MPSVV has 12 faculties including Vyakarana (Grammar), Sahitya (Literature), Vedanta, Jyotisha (Astronomy), Dharmashastra, Ayurveda, Yoga, Sanskrit Computing, Performing Arts, Sanskrit Pedagogy, Comparative Philology and Manuscriptology. Offers Shastri (BA), Acharya (MA), Vidyavaridhi (PhD), Shiksha Shastri (BEd) and various Diploma/Certificate programmes in traditional Sanskrit and Vedic disciplines. NAAC accredited.
UG/PG admissions through MPSVV-conducted entrance and merit. CUET UG/PG accepted for select programmes. PhD through MPSVV PhD entrance + interview. Traditional pathshala graduates eligible with equivalence certification.
