About Pandit S.N. Shukla University
Pandit Shambhunath Shukla University (PSNSU), established in 2015 by an Act of the Madhya Pradesh state legislature (operational from 2016), is a state university serving the Shahdol division of Madhya Pradesh. Located at Shahdol, the university is named after Pandit Shambhunath Shukla — a freedom fighter and the first Chief Minister of the erstwhile Vindhya Pradesh state (which existed 1948-1956 before being merged into MP). PSNSU serves Shahdol, Umaria and Anuppur districts — a tribal-majority region of eastern MP.
PSNSU has 10 teaching departments organised into faculties of Arts, Social Sciences, Sciences, Commerce, Education and Tribal Studies. The university affiliates over 50 UG colleges across the Shahdol division. Recognised by UGC under Section 2(f) and 12(B). The Centre for Tribal Studies and the Department of Sociology are research-focused units.
UG admissions to affiliated colleges through MP Online (epravesh.mponline.gov.in) on Plus Two merit. PG admissions through PSNSU PG Entrance or CUET PG for select departments. PhD through PSNSU PhD entrance.
