Swami Vivekanand University, established in 2011 by an Act of the Madhya Pradesh state legislature, is a private state university located at Sironja in Sagar district. The university is named after Swami Vivekanand — the 19th-century philosopher and spiritual leader. SVU Sagar is part of the Sagar Group of Institutions and is one of the major private universities in Bundelkhand region.
