About Vikram University
Vikram University, established in 1957 as the University of Ujjain (renamed Vikram University in 1959 in honour of King Vikramaditya, the legendary 1st-century BCE Ujjain ruler), is one of the oldest state universities in Madhya Pradesh. Located in the historic temple city of Ujjain (home to the Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga), the university serves the Malwa region of MP, affiliating over 200 colleges across Ujjain, Ratlam, Dewas, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Shajapur and Agar Malwa districts.
The university has 24 teaching departments organised into 8 faculties — Arts, Social Sciences, Sciences, Commerce, Education, Engineering, Law and Management. It offers UG, PG, MPhil and PhD programmes through teaching departments and affiliated colleges. Vikram University is NAAC B++ accredited and recognised by UGC under Section 12(B). The Institute of Engineering & Technology (IET) and the School of Studies in Hindi are flagship units.
UG admissions to affiliated colleges through MP Online (epravesh.mponline.gov.in) on Plus Two merit. PG admissions through Vikram University PG Entrance or CUET PG for select departments. PhD through Vikram University PhD entrance examination.
