About Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya

Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya (MGAHV), established in 1997 by the Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya Act, is a Central University dedicated to the global propagation of the Hindi language and Indian literature. Located at Wardha in Maharashtra — a town historically linked to Mahatma Gandhi (who set up the Sevagram Ashram nearby) — the university is the only Central University in India that delivers higher education exclusively in Hindi medium across all disciplines.

MGAHV has 11 schools — Sahitya (Literature), Bhasha (Language), Vidyapeeth (Indology), Anuvad & Vyakhya (Translation & Interpretation), Janasanchar (Mass Communication), Stree Adhyayan (Women Studies), Prabandhan (Management), Vigyan-Praudyogiki (Science & Technology), Visual Arts, Education and Performing Arts. The university has Regional Centres at Bhopal (MP), Allahabad (UP), Kolkata (WB) and other cities. NAAC accredited.

UG admissions through CUET UG, PG through CUET PG, and PhD through CUET PhD or MGAHV PhD entrance. Central reservation policy applies (SC 15%, ST 7.5%, OBC-NCL 27%, EWS 10%, PwBD 5% horizontal). All academic delivery in Hindi medium.
