About Dr Vishwanath Karad MIT World Peace University
Dr. Vishwanath Karad MIT World Peace University (MIT WPU), established in 2017 by an Act of the Maharashtra state legislature (continuing the MIT Group of Institutions founded in 1983 by Prof. Vishwanath D. Karad), is a private state university located at Kothrud, Pune. MIT WPU is the flagship deemed-equivalent state university of the MIT Group with multiple schools across engineering, management, liberal arts and peace studies. The university is named after Vishwanath D. Karad, the founder of MAEER MIT Pune and a UNESCO Chair in Human Values.
MIT WPU has multiple schools — School of Engineering & Technology, School of Pharmacy, School of Sciences, School of Computer Science, School of Management, School of Education, School of Law, School of Liberal Arts, School of Architecture, School of Design, School of Government & Public Policy, School of Mass Communication, School of Performing Arts and the MIT School of Peace Studies. Offers UG, PG, Integrated and PhD programmes. NAAC A+ accredited.
Admissions through MIT WPU CET (Common Entrance Test) or merit on Plus Two/UG marks. JEE Main, GATE, CAT, CUET UG/PG, NATA accepted depending on programme. PhD through MIT WPU PhD entrance.
