About Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies

SVKM's Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) is a private deemed university with its main campus in Vile Parle West, Mumbai. Established in 1981 by the Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal (SVKM) as a management institute offering a 2-year master's programme, NMIMS was conferred Deemed-to-be-University status in 2003 and was awarded Category-I autonomy by UGC in 2018.

NMIMS today operates eight campuses (Mumbai, Shirpur, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Navi Mumbai, Indore, Chandigarh and Dhule) with 17 schools covering Management (NMIMS School of Business Management), Engineering & Technology (Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management), Pharmacy, Architecture, Design, Liberal Arts, Hospitality, Commerce, Law, Mathematical Sciences, Performing Arts, and Distance & Online Education.

Most NMIMS UG admissions (BBA, B.Tech, B.Com, BSc, BDes etc.) are conducted through the NMIMS Programs After Twelfth (NPAT) entrance test, conducted in two phases each year and accepted across all NMIMS schools and campuses. The flagship MBA at NMIMS School of Business Management admits via the NMAT by GMAC examination. Other PG programmes use programme-specific tests (NCET, MST, NLAT etc.).

NPAT (NMIMS Programs After Twelfth) is the primary entrance for most NMIMS UG programmes (BBA, B.Tech, B.Com, BSc, BDes, MBA-Tech and integrated courses) — conducted online in two phases. The flagship MBA at NMIMS School of Business Management admits through NMAT by GMAC. Other PG programmes use NCET (PG entrance), MST (M.Sc Statistics) and NLAT (Law Aptitude Test).

Eligibility

UG (BBA/BCom/BSc/BDes/integrated): Class 10+2 from a recognised board with at least 50% (60%+ for some flagship programmes). Programme-specific subject requirements apply. B.Tech/MBA-Tech: 10+2 with PCM at 60%+ and a valid NPAT score. MBA (NMIMS SBM): Bachelor's with at least 50% and a valid NMAT by GMAC score. PG (M.Tech/M.Sc/M.Com): Bachelor's in the relevant discipline with at least 50% (45% for SC/ST/PwBD). PhD: Master's with 55%+ and qualifying UGC-NET / GATE / NMIMS PhD entrance plus interview.

NMIMS offers merit-based scholarships, the Sunandan Divatia Memorial Scholarship for science students, the SVKM Foundation needs-based fee waivers, and Government of India Post-Matric scholarships through the National Scholarship Portal. As a private deemed university, NMIMS follows its own internal admission policy.
