About Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth
Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth (VNMKV), established in 1972 (as Marathwada Agricultural University; renamed in 2011 in honour of Vasantrao Naik, former Chief Minister of Maharashtra and pioneer of agricultural development), is one of the four state agricultural universities of Maharashtra. Located at Parbhani, VNMKV serves the Marathwada region (8 districts: Aurangabad, Jalna, Beed, Latur, Osmanabad, Nanded, Hingoli, Parbhani).
VNMKV has Colleges of Agriculture at Parbhani, Latur, Osmanabad, Ambajogai and Badnapur; College of Agricultural Engineering at Parbhani; College of Horticulture at Parbhani; College of Home Science at Parbhani; and 8 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs). ICAR-accredited SAU; known for research on cotton, sugarcane, sorghum and pulses adapted to Marathwada's semi-arid climate.
UG admissions through MHT-CET (state quota 85%) and ICAR AIEEA UG (15% national quota). PG/PhD through ICAR AIEEA PG / AICE-JRF and VNMKV-conducted entrances.
