About Bir Tikendrajit University
Bir Tikendrajit University (BTU), established in 2020 by an Act of the Manipur state legislature, is a private state university located at Canchipur (near Manipur University), Imphal. The university is named after Yuvraj Bir Tikendrajit — the 19th-century prince and military commander of the Manipur kingdom who led the resistance against British colonial forces during the Anglo-Manipur War of 1891 (and was executed by the British).
Bir Tikendrajit University has multiple schools — Engineering & Technology, Sciences, Computer Applications, Management, Education, Law, Commerce, Mass Communication and Liberal Arts. Offers UG, PG, Diploma and PhD programmes. Recognised by UGC under Section 2(f).
Admissions through BTU Entrance Test or merit on Plus Two/UG marks. JEE Main, GATE, CAT, CUET UG/PG accepted. PhD through BTU PhD entrance.
