Manipur International University (MIU), established in 2019 by an Act of the Manipur state legislature, is a private state university located at Imphal. The university aims to provide international-standard higher education in Manipur with multidisciplinary programmes and academic collaborations with universities in Southeast Asia (particularly Myanmar, Thailand and Singapore — given Manipur's strategic 'Act East Policy' location).
