About Manipur Technical University

Manipur Technical University (MTU), established in 2016 by an Act of the Manipur state legislature, is the state technological university of Manipur. Located at Takyelpat, Imphal, MTU is purely an affiliating-and-examining technological university for all engineering, technology and management colleges in Manipur. The university was created to bring engineering education in Manipur under a unified state framework.

MTU has the main campus at Takyelpat (with departments in Computer Science Engineering, Electronics & Communication, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology) and affiliates engineering colleges across Manipur. The Manipur Institute of Technology (MIT, originally under Manipur University but now under MTU jurisdiction for technical programmes) is the main affiliated institute. Recognised by UGC under Section 2(f) and AICTE.
