About Sangai International University
Sangai International University (SIU), established in 2015 by an Act of the Manipur state legislature, is a private state university located at Churachandpur, Manipur. The university is named after Sangai — the brow-antlered deer (Cervus eldii eldii) which is the state animal of Manipur and is found only at Keibul Lamjao National Park near Loktak Lake. SIU serves the Churachandpur and surrounding tribal-majority hill districts of Manipur (Kuki-Zomi tribal communities).
Sangai International University has multiple schools — Engineering & Technology, Sciences, Computer Applications, Management, Education, Law, Commerce, Mass Communication, Performing Arts and Tribal Studies. Offers UG, PG, Diploma and PhD programmes with strong tribal student focus. Recognised by UGC under Section 2(f).
Admissions through SIU Entrance Test or merit on Plus Two/UG marks. JEE Main, GATE, CAT, CUET UG/PG accepted. PhD through SIU PhD entrance. Strong outreach to NE tribal students.
